Who We Are

Somali Professional Nurses Association (SOPNA) is a professional association which brings together all cadres of nurses in Somalia whether in health care practice, education, management, and research institutions. Established in 2002, we operate in all Somali states. We exist to promote excellence in nursing. The mandate of the association is to promote excellence in Nursing with the ultimate goal of improving expertise and experience of nurses as well as the patient’s outcome.

To represent Nurses in promoting professional development, social welfare, advocacy through professional capacity development, membership growth, and innovative governance.

To be a unifying member responsive Nurses Association in the country and beyond

Objectives and Goal

1- To register Statistically the number of and man power of the Nurses who are available in the Country
2- To assess their performances and identify their need for training.
3- To upgrade and strengthen nurses professional skills and knowledge through profession in service training and seminars.
4- To assist nurses for finding opportunities for jobs.
5- Setting up regulation for the staff nurses and legal requirement for their practice..
